They are also trained make up artists, so you can therefore trust their judgement. Plus if you do not know which colour suits you, the staff will help you choose one. I would also visit the MAC store itself to choose a foundation, as the colours on the website do not accurately reflect how they will look on your own skin. So if you are very fair skinned like me, I suggest going for the lightest colour which is NC15.

MAC also produces a wide range of foundation colours, so it can be hard to pinpoint a suitable colour. Though this is the fault of myself and the make up artist at the MAC store for recommending this colour to me and it was not until I applied it at home that I realised it was too dark. The colour is a bit too dark for my skintone and makes my skin look a bit orange, which was not the look I was going for. The only major problem I have with the foundation is that I use NW15, which is the second lightest colour MAC produce. I therefore suggest using a sponge if you are seeking light coverage or a daytime look and using a foundation brush for medium coverage or if you are going out of a night. The foundation also contains SPF 15, which will protect you from UVA and UVB rays in sunlight. Yet I have found from experience that applying the foundation with a make up sponge means the foundation lasts for a good 6 hours. The website claims that the foundation lasts for 8 hours and I would agree with this IF you are applying it with a foundation brush. The foundation also lightly moisturises my face and neck and this is due to skin conditioning ingredients. This therefore means I don’t have to apply lots of concealer to my skin and the areas I only need to conceal are any spots on my face. Furthermore, the foundation easily covers the red patches on my cheeks, nose and forehead and provides me with a good colour for my skin. The foundation is quite thick so you will only need a small amount and applies smoothly and evenly when applied with a foundation brush.
